Our Top 5 Favorite Non-Toxic Teething Toys

Teething is a *rough* time for the whole family. Crying, sleepless nights, the whole nine yards. About two weeks or so ago, Lucien started cutting teeth…and Amélie just started yesterday. So it’s kinda been a hot mess around here, but I’ve found the little ones LOVE to nom on a few of their toys in particular (a couple aren’t even officially “teething toys”).

Cheengoo Cotton/Wood Rattle

I try my best to stick to toys made from natural materials like wood or food/medical-grade silicone. Everything on this list is non-toxic, so no need to fret!

Cheengoo Bunny Rattle

This super sweet little bunny rattle is a favorite of both our little ones. We originally got two rattles from Cheengoo: this one and another that is entirely crocheted. But they hands down prefer the wood grip–it’s easier for them to hold and they love teething on the wood (which is untreated wood). 10/10 adorable rattle, perfect for entertaining babies with sound (and it’s not obnoxiously loud or clangy–you know what I’m talking about!) and for them to relieve some of that teething pain.

Munch Mitt

We love these wearable teethers from Malarkey Kids when we’re on the go! If your kids are anything like ours, the few times a week (if you’re lucky) you get the chance to grab a bite to eat at your favorite restaurant, they immediately drop any toys you hand them on the floor. No need to worry about frantically searching under the table for fallen teethers with these–plus the food-grade silicone is nicely textured to help alleviate gum pain. So these little mitts have been lifesavers–plus they make a crinkling sound the twins love.

Silicone Links & Banana and Shark Training Toothbrushes

Chewbeads Baby Silicone Links

We originally bought these medical-grade silicone links to secure toys to the stroller…but turns out they make awesome teethers in their own right! The little ones quickly favored these to chew on over the actual toys they were connected to, so now we just give them the links–and they’re totally content! This is also a pretty affordable option, because unlike the other things on this list–you don’t have to buy 2, 3, or more of each if you have multiples. Each pack comes with 5 links!

Banana and Shark Baby Training Toothbrushes and Teethers

Chances are you’ve seen at least the banana variety of these around…and there’s a reason, they’re totally awesome! We’ve had them since before the babies were born–they’re about 5 months now, and I wish we had opened them sooner! These are made of super soft and flexible food-grade silicone and are SUPER easy for little hands to hold. They’re also freezer-friendly, so pop ‘em in to get cold and provide even more gum relief.

Sophie & Friends

Sophie la giraffe Products

When we were picking items for our baby registry, I thought this giraffe had to be overrated. I saw it EVERYWHERE. But to satisfy my own curiosity (and because let’s face it, Sophie is adorable), I decided to add both the original version and smaller version with handles to the list. And let me tell you, I’m happy we did. It worked out perfectly, because Lucien prefers the smaller one while Amélie is obsessed with the O.G. squeaky Sophia (except for the past few days as her teething has gotten more intense–I think they like the harder rubber of the small teether to help fight the pain). Both are fantastic–as is her little cat friend Lazarre–and I’m pleasantly surprised the cute little giraffe wasn’t overhyped (at least not to us)! She’s made of 100% natural rubber–just be careful when ordering online…there have been some reviews reporting fake Sophies. Luckily, you can find them at almost any store that sells baby stuff (Nordstrom’s, Buy Buy Baby, Target, etc.).

Anyone else in the throes of teething disaster? What are your little one’s favorite teethers?
